Professional Biography
Dr. Antomia “Mia” Farrell, a transformational leader and native of Louisville, Kentucky, obtained an Ed.D. from Murray State University in the P-20 Community and Leadership Program with a concentration in Agriculture, M.S. Human Development Leadership with a concentration in College Student Personnel from Murray State University, and B.S. from University of Kentucky (UK) Agricultural Economics. Dr. Farrell currently serves as the Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University of Kentucky (UK), College of Agriculture, Food and Environment (CAFE) where she recently led the development of a successful five year strategic plan centered on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility for the college including Cooperative Extension Service 120 counties. She served as the UK CAFE Interim Director for Diversity for one year and Assistant Dean and Director for Diversity for over two years, UK Cooperative Extension Service for over three years, and a former 4-H Youth Development Educator that has a true passion for Positive Youth Development and a proponent of pipeline development programming. She served as the National MANRRS President from 2019-2021, received the 2017 National MANRRS Advisor of the Year Award, she is in Cohort 16 of the Food Systems Leadership Institute, Big Brother Big Sister of the Bluegrass Board Member and incoming board chair, Kentucky Women in Agriculture Board member, Women’s Forest Congress facilitator, Fayette County Public School Equity Council Committee Board member, served on the UK Women’s Forum Board for two years, Children, Have, Options, in Choosing Experiences (C.H.O.I.C.E.) Board member, graduate of the class of 2018-2019 Leadership Lexington, and a member of the UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment Alumni Board just to name a few of her leadership commitments.
