Professional Profile

Quentin R Tyler., Lexington, KY., graduated from the University of Kentucky (B.S. 2002) majoring in Agricultural Economics, MS in Agricultural Economics in MS (2005) and a PhD in Sociology from the College of Arts and Sciences (2010) and currently serves and is a life member on the Ag and Human Environmental Sciences Alumni Association  Board . As an undergraduate at the University of Kentucky, he was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences, Agribusiness Club, and was a Resident Hall Advisor. He has also worked for the University of Kentucky for the last ten years. In 2012, he was named Assistant Dean and Director for Diversity for the UK’s College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.  Dr. Tyler has been a part of the College of Ag and HES Hall of Fame Selection Committee, a current advisor for the UK Chapter of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences for the last ten years and advisor for the Undergraduate chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.  Dr. Tyler is now the National President for Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences, which consist of 75 chapters in over 38 states.  Dr. Tyler has been the keynote speaker at the Harambee graduation celebration and past recipient of the Lyman T. Johnson Torch Bearer Award for the University of Kentucky, College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.  Dr. Tyler is also the College of Agriculture representative on the Kentucky Council  of Cooperatives and state coordinator for the American Private Enterprise Program, which provides scholarships annually to youth across the Kentucky.
