Promoting diversity is outlined explicitly in the College of Agriculture's Strategic Plan. Goal 4 of the Strategic Plan, Promote Diversity and Inclusion, details the College's plan of action related to diversity. The College is committed to creating an environment where diversity is valued and all individuals can fulfill their highest potential. Respect for diversity of thought, culture, and all human differences is the cornerstone of all our actions. To implement its mission, the College must model the ways in which diversity, fairness and equity in policies and practices are essential to learning, discovery, and engagement.
Our Definition of Diversity
"Diversity, as a concept, describes an inclusive community of people with varied human characteristics, ideas, and world views related, but not limited, to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, religion, color, creed, national origin, age, disabilities, socio- economic status, life experiences, geographical region, or ancestry. Diversity in concept expects the creation by institution of a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment that honors and respects those differences. The policy "focusing on adverse student body and workforce" advocates the inclusion of students and employees from historically under-served populations, but historical and ongoing."
